In this role, we are looking for an experienced researcher and people manager who has a passion for leading and growing people in the UX field. We are looking for someone who is positive, energetic, and leads by example. A high level of motivation and excellent communication skills are required to manage a diverse set of projects, individual contributors, and clients. Flexibility to work on multiple projects, a natural aptitude for organization, and deadline-driven deliverable creation are also important in this fast-paced environment.


  • Manage team of researchers
  • Plan, design, and help conduct qualitative and quantitative user research studies
  • Work with the team and other stakeholders to analyze findings and deliver innovative, actionable insights
  • Passion for understanding the day-to-day operations of the business inside and out
  • Oversee business and team processes and day-to-day operations
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and phases of research simultaneous
  • Improve and standardize the user-centered design methodologies and processes
  • Uphold and maintain a high standard and consistency for our products and experience
  • Understand trends and best practices in the UX industry
  • Help the business grow strategically year-over-year
  • Manage organizational change with a positive attitude
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy in a direct support relationship to primary customers and meet all requirements with minimal oversight
  • Resolve escalated or difficult issues in a thoughtful, patient, logical manner


  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interaction Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, or related field
  • 7+ years related work experience and proven knowledge and experience with a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • 3+ years experience managing a Research Team
  • Strong understanding of UX design principles and design thinking process (human centered design)
  • Experience and passion for leading teams and growing employees
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

UX Sales Representative

We are seeking a Sales Representative to join our team! This is a new position at URI and a great opportunity. You will directly report to the URI partners. This role focuses on expanding our client base and creating new client relationships. 

ABOUT YOU You are a smart, extroverted, organized salesperson. You are a self-starter with a background in tech and retail. You are flexible – you can handle ambiguity and you find creative ways to achieve goals. You are a good listener. You have excellent in-person, email, and phone rapport. You understand that creating new sales requires cultivating relationships, believing in what you are offering, and hustle. 

ABOUT THE ROLE You will be responsible for creating new clients accounts and new client business. You will do this by: 

  • Developing methods for recruiting potential customers 
  • Nurturing relationships that become new accounts 
  • Actively networking – you will be attending conferences and networking functions 
  • Identifying potential partner companies who may need UX research and top customers for our services 
  • Collaborating on strategies with the URI Partners and the URI Client Account Manager 
  • Using our current client data and your knowledge of marketplace trends to spot opportunities 
  • Offering potential clients primary services and appropriate add-on services 
  • Presenting value-oriented products/offers to potential clients and generating a pipeline of short term and long-term opportunities and growth 
  • Closing new account sales – providing new clients with customized solutions that fit their needs and goals 
  • Collaborating with Client Account Manager, Partners, and Operations Lead to capture timely opportunities 
  • Participating in the Client Engagement Plan: This could include implementing a newsletter, creating scheduled content, increasing URI’s social media presence, formulating marketing materials 
  • Increasing URI brand awareness and developing a warm audience for our research services and products 
  • Being a URI brand ambassador – being able to fluidly describe who we are and what we do to different audiences 
  • Providing sales support to URI Managers and Operations Leads 


  • 3-5 years in sales or customer service with progressive responsibilities 
  • External sales experience 
  • Service experience 
  • Strong client follow-through and engagement skills 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and reach metric goals 
  • Ability to prioritize and plan workflow 
  • Skill at working with cross-functionally teams 
  • Knowledge of the tech industry – gaming, platforms, products, software development 
  • Knowledge of on-line retail/consumer platforms 
  • Knowledge of information worker market sector and products 
  • Understanding of and enthusiasm for UX research 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs and G Suite 
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management tools is a plus 
  • Comfortable locally traveling to meet with clients out of office as needed 
  • Willing to travel: Potential travel will be less than 25%

COMPENSATION: Salaried, exempt position. Base pay is $40,000-$60,000 DOE + Commission HOURS: Monday-Friday (40 hours/week) WORK LOCATION: Redmond, WA and potentially WFH EDUCATION: Associate’s degree required; bachelors or master’s degree preferred WORK AUTHORIZATION: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
