Biometric Identifier Privacy and Protection Policy

During the course of our activities, we (User Research International LLC,“URI”) collect, store and process personal information about our staff, suppliers, clients, research participants, employment applicants, and other third parties. URI may, at times, collect and use biometric identifiers in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, including the requirements set forth in Chapter 19.375 RCW of the Revised Code of Washington. This notice informs you about the collection, storage, and use of your biometric information.

Description of Biometric Identifiers

Biometric identifiers means data generated by automatic measurements of an individual’s biological characteristics, such as a fingerprint, voiceprint, eye retinas, irises, or other unique biological patterns or characteristics that is used to identify a specific individual. URI may collect and store these types of biometric information.

Purpose of Data Collection

The primary purpose of collecting a participant’s biometric identifiers is for project research in projects where the participant is actively involved. The collected data will be used to understand the experiences and perspectives of individuals utilizing devices or services employing biometric identifiers. Our aim is to identify opportunities for enhancing their overall user experience. It is not the purpose of this research to communicate any sales or marketing messages, or to raise the profile of any products with participants.

Voluntary Participation

Your participation in this research study is voluntary.

If you choose to volunteer, you will be free to not answer questions, to take a break, and to withdraw at any time, without giving a reason.

If you participate and later choose to withdraw, please let us know by emailing info@uriux.com. You do not need to state a reason for withdrawing. All data collected will be securely deleted or destroyed as soon as practicable.

Storage and Security

Your biometric Identifiers will be stored securely by URI. URI has appropriate security measures in place which are designed to: guard against unauthorized access to and acquisition of biometric identified; protect personal data; and prevent its damage, loss, misuse, processing, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

Retention and Destruction

Your biometric Identifiers will be retained until deemed no longer reasonably necessary for the purposes of the project, or upon your request, at which point the data will be securely destroyed or deleted in accordance with established procedures.

Third-Party Disclosure

Your biometric Identifiers may be shared with third parties, including URI staff and clients. These parties will handle the data in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and will ensure its protection. Further, these third parties are contractually obligated to not further disclose biometric identifiers and/or will not be enrolled in a database that is inconsistent with this notice. We hereby assure you that your data will not be sold, transferred, or utilized for any purposes outside the scope of the projects participated.
